
Brent A. Rose serves as Conductor and Musical Director of the Casper Municipal Band, a role he has held since 2022. A lifelong Wyoming educator and arts leader, Mr. Rose brings more than two decades of experience in music education, performance, and organizational leadership to the ensemble.
Mr. Rose currently serves as Assistant Commissioner and Director of Performing Arts for the Wyoming High School Activities Association, where he oversees event coordination, finance, and administrative operations. Prior to this role, he spent ten years as Director of Bands at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, where he led a comprehensive program including marching band, multiple concert ensembles, jazz bands, and percussion ensembles. Under his leadership, the program expanded significantly in both size and scope and received state-wide awards and recognition. Before teaching at Kelly Walsh HS, spent time teaching at Centennial Junior High School in Casper and Buffalo High School in Buffalo, Wyoming.
A dedicated leader in music education across Wyoming, Mr. Rose serves as Executive Director of both the Wyoming Music Educators Association and the Wyoming All-State Marching Band. In these roles, he has been instrumental in coordinating statewide events, supporting educators, and expanding performance opportunities for students across Wyoming’s communities.
Mr. Rose holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University. He has also completed significant doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership at the University of Wyoming and earned certification in educational administration.
His contributions to music education have been recognized with numerous honors, including Wyoming Music Educator of the Year, Wyoming Bandmaster of the Year (Phi Beta Mu), Wyoming Jazz Educator of the Year, Johnson County Educator of the Year, and Natrona County Educator of the Year. He was also named a finalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award and recognized as a member of the Casper Star-Tribune’s inaugural “40 Under 40.”
In addition to his professional work, Mr. Rose remains deeply committed to community music-making, having served as a community band director, guest conductor, and volunteer musician throughout Wyoming.
